Stable Brothers is particularly proud of the most recent project. In which we obtained a permit for the renovation of a pig farm. Because there were various measures to reduce emissions from stables. As a result, obtaining permits was not always self-evident.

The company was struggling with problems around ammonia emissions and other harmful substances from their stables. This problem was complex, because there were all kinds of laws and regulations. We applied our expertise in air scrubbers to solve the customer's problem.

The process

In collaboration with the client, we developed a special air washer. As a result, we were able to significantly reduce both the ammonia odor and the emissions. We thereby comply with the laws and regulations of the provincial environmental service.

The solution consisted of a three-stage scrubber, where concentrated sulphuric acid was used in the pressure chamber to break down ammonia.

This allowed the company to keep the amount of flushing water to a minimum and the air became cleaner. The air scrubber system was designed to reduce noise levels. As a result, the impact on the environment was minimal.

Through close cooperation with partners and experts in the field of permits. Weekly meetings and interim checks were planned. In order to guarantee the quality. We used sensors. We monitored the functioning of the system. And so we could guarantee the quality of the project.

Product features

The result was a custom solution that met regulations and reduced the impact on the environment and residents. Some of the features of the air scrubber we installed are:

  • Plug and play: no additional process pit is required
  • Low energy consumption: customised pump and ventilation system
  • Removal efficiency: 95% ammonia, 30% odour and 35% dust reduction according to BWL 2008.08.V6 (RAV code), provided that the enclosed code of conduct is observed
  • Water consumption: 1500 m3 per year
