Sustainable stable heating to save costs

There are several ways to realize stable heating. In the past, gas was often used to heat stables. Gas heaters were the standard solution, but this method is no longer sustainable and also expensive.

Nowadays, many are looking for more sustainable solutions for heating stables. A poultry farm in Belgium was struggling with a similar problem. Their heating system was based on gas, which led to high costs for the entrepreneur. In search of a solution, he contacted Stable Brothers. After an introductory meeting, we identified the problem and started working on finding the most suitable solution.

The solution

A possible solution for sustainable stable heating is the installation of a heat exchanger. These devices use residual heat and convert it into usable heat, which is then redistributed in the stable.

An alternative solution is to use twin tubes to use residual heat. This solution proved to be the perfect choice for the Belgian poultry farm. Twin tubes are flat aluminium profiles that are suitable for tubes with a diameter of 22 mm. Compared to delta tubes, twin tubes offer a higher heat output and can be installed in various locations in the house, such as against the wall, in the air supply duct or under the ventilation ceiling. Mounting twin tubes on the compartment walls in combination with a perforated ventilation ceiling ensures optimum heat distribution in the house.

The twin pipes were mounted along the walls of the barn and connected to an existing boiler. The result was a significant reduction in the poultry farm's gas consumption by at least 60%.

The result

Stable Brothers advised the poultry farm to implement twin tubes in their barn. For the first order, Stable Brothers supplied the necessary material, after which the contractor installed the twin tubes themselves. The customer noticed that this process was time-consuming and required specialist knowledge. Therefore, he called in Stable Brothers for the installation for the second delivery. In order to relieve the customer, Stable Brothers ensured that a team came on site to complete the installation of the twin tubes.
