A cleaning and misting installation for slaughterhouses
Our client needed a pig cleaning installation. This was due to the strict NVWA regulations. Pigs and cattle must be delivered clean. There was also interest in a misting installation. We made an in-depth analysis of the situation and explored all possible options.
An adiabatic cooling
For the project we opted for an adiabatic cooling solution. The entire pipe and nozzle system is made of high-quality stainless steel, which ensures optimum durability. Each separate circuit in the house can be operated on an individual basis by the house employees, allowing a high degree of flexibility and control.
Our system is powered by two energy-efficient pumps, each with a power of 7.5 kW, which are significantly more economical compared to average systems on the market. These pumps manage two separate water pipes that serve the waiting stables.
- The first water pipe is dedicated to adiabatic cooling, an essential element to create a comfortable working environment.
- The second line acts as a washing and cleaning line, which guarantees that the animals are cleaned before entering the slaughter line. In this process, the animals are washed with fine water drops.
The efficient design and adjustment of the two pumps results in a process water consumption of only 3500 liters per hour, which is a significant reduction of more than 6000 liters per hour compared to traditional systems. This demonstrates our commitment to sustainability and efficiency within the livestock industry.
Partners
A collaboration with a cooling and misting expert was important. There was weekly consultation with the client. The climate technician was an important person in this project and his expertise proved to be crucial.
Monitor
A remote monitoring system was implemented to allow the installations to function optimally. Employees can identify faults and, in many cases, resolve them remotely. If necessary, they have the right materials and products with them to efficiently resolve the malfunction on site.
Finally
Thanks to advanced technologies and close cooperation between all parties involved, the project was successfully realized. The result was an efficient and animal-friendly installation that met NVWA requirements. In addition, sustainability and animal welfare were taken into account. During the course of the project we learned that it is important to bring the right experts together and to communicate well. This ensures a smooth running of the project and a better end result. This experience enables us to carry out future projects even better. When designing the installations, we also looked at the latest technological developments. This ensured that we could offer a progressive solution that responded to the needs of the client. Moreover, this enabled us to realize an installation that is future-proof and ready for possible expansions. We are pleased to report that we are proud of the successful completion of this project and our contribution to improving animal welfare.
