A three-stage air scrubber to reduce emissions
Stable Brothers is extremely proud of its latest project. We have obtained a permit for the renovation of a pig farm. Because there were various measures to reduce emissions from stables. As a result, obtaining permits was not always self-evident.
The company was struggling with problems surrounding ammonia emissions and other harmful substances from their stables. This problem was complex, because there were all kinds of laws and regulations. We applied our expertise in air scrubbers to solve the customer's problem.
The process
In collaboration with the customer, we have developed a special air washer. This allowed us to significantly reduce both ammonia odor and emissions. We therefore comply with the laws and regulations of the provincial environmental agency.
The solution consisted of a three-stage washer. Concentrated sulfuric acid was used in the pressure chamber to break down ammonia.
This allowed the company to keep the amount of drain water to a minimum and the air became cleaner. The air washing system was designed to limit noise levels. This meant that the impact on the environment was minimal.
Through close collaboration with partners and experts in the field of permits. Weekly meetings and interim checks were planned. In order to guarantee quality. We used sensors. We monitored the operation of the system. And so we could guarantee the quality of the project.

The result was a tailor-made solution that complied with regulations and reduced the impact on the environment and local residents. Some features of the air washer we installed are:

- Low energy consumption: customized pump and ventilation setup
- Removal efficiency: 95% ammonia, 30% odor and 35% dust reduction according to BWL 2008.08.V6 (RAV code), provided that the supplied code of conduct is complied with
- Water consumption: 1500 m3 per year
