What is Bovikalc® Calcium?

Bovikalc® is a supplementary dietary feed in bolus form, developed to support dairy cows around calving. The bolus contains a unique combination of rapidly and slowly released calcium, providing the body with a sustained supply of calcium during periods of increased need.

Active ingredients:

Each bolus contains 43 grams of calcium, from two sources:
• 70% calcium chloride – rapidly absorbed through the rumen
• 30% calcium sulphate – releases calcium gradually after breakdown by the rumen flora

Dosage and administration:

Standard use during calving:

  • 1 bolus immediately after calving
  • 1 bolus 12–24 hours later

Use as a supplement to infusion treatment:

  • 1 bolus 2–3 hours after the infusion
  • 1 bolus 12–15 hours later

Recommended dosage for cows at risk:

At least 2, preferably 4 boluses in the first 24 hours after calving
