Delvotest® T official antibiotic residue test for milk in the Netherlands Delvotest® T from DSM Food Specialties has been selected by QLIP, the partner for quality assurance in agrofood, as the national reference test for the detection of antibiotic residues in milk.
This broad spectrum microbial test was chosen because of its high sensitivity and reliability. The test complies with the legislation and regulations in the Dutch dairy sector that guarantees excellent quality milk throughout the dairy chain, from dairy farmer to consumer. Delvotest® T is a broad spectrum test that identifies various antibiotics at or below the European MRLs with a higher sensitivity for tetracyclines than other microbial screening tests. QLIP selected Delvotest® T not only because it best achieves the intended detection level, but also because of its robust performance and consistent results.
The Delvotest is a standard diffusion test that can detect residues of antibacterial substances, such as antibiotics and sulfonamides, in milk. The test consists of ampoules containing a solid agar medium. If milk without antibiotics is added to the test ampoules, the bacteria will germinate and grow. This causes a colour change: from purple to yellow. If milk contains too much antibiotics, the bacteria in the ampoule will not grow: the colour remains purple. In this way, it is quick and easy to assess whether milk contains too high a concentration of antibiotics.
Use: Inject 0.1 ml from the milk sample into the ampoule using the pipette. Place the ampoule in the incubator at 64°C for 3 hours and 15 minutes. Store the ampoules in a dark, cool place between 4°C and 15°C. - With a higher sensitivity to tetracyclines than other microbial screening tests.
- Dosing syringe with 25 disposable pipettes for sampling.
- Detection of antibiotics and sulfonamides in milk.
- Result is easy to read by the color change of the gel in the ampoule.
Tests are only reliable if they are stored in a dark and cool place!
